The Transformers star has long been regarded as one of the s*xiest women in the world and one of the most smokin hot people in the world, but then Megan Fox doesn’t seem to see herself the way other people see her. The 36-year-old in her interview with Sports Illustrated for the new edition of Swimsuit Issue went deep on her long struggle with body dysmorphia.

Fox is one of four celebs that graced the cover of this year’s Swimsuit Issue, sharing the mantle with Kim Petras, Brooks Nadar, and Martha Stewart

She told the Magazine, ‘I don’t ever see myself the way other people see me. There’s never a point in my life where I loved my body, never, ever.” Fox added, ‘When I was little, that was an obsession I had of, like, ‘but I should look this way. And why I had an awareness of my body that young I’m not sure, and it definitely wasn’t environmental because I grew up in a very religious environment where bodies weren’t even acknowledged.’

Megan concluded, “The journey of loving myself is going to be never-ending.”

According to the Anxiety & Depression Association of America, Body dysmorphia disorder involves being preoccupied by thoughts of imagined defects with one’s appearance and it impacts about one in 50 people, including men and women as well as develops during adolescence. In 2021, Megan opened up about having body dysmorphia in a 2021 interview for British GQ with her fiancé Machine Gun Kelly

At the time, the Jennifer’s Body actress told the outlet, ‘I have a lot of deep insecurities,’ and added that although some might perceive that beautiful people have “easy lives, they most likely don’t feel that way about themselves.” In the past, Megan had equally spoken about the sexism and misogyny in Hollywood, while admitting that public perception of her has caused her to sometimes hold her tongue.

She told the New York Times of her decision not to comment on the #MeToo movement in 2018, stating ‘I just didn’t think based on how I’d been received by people, and by feminists, that I would be a sympathetic victim. And I thought if ever there were a time where the world would agree that it’s appropriate to victim-shame someone, it would be when I come forward with my story.’
