King Charles III Coronation: The Complete Schedule & How To Watch

Several events, including a concert at Windsor Castle, will be held nationwide to commemorate the coronation of King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla. It will hold tomorrow, May 6th, and will see about 2,000 guests from different countries. To watch the time-honored ritual from your home, we’ve gathered all the needed information. Read below:

Where will the Coronation Service for King Charles III hold?

The Archbishop of Canterbury will officiate the coronation service at Westminster Abbey. The service will blend age-old customs and grandeur with a recognition of the monarch’s present responsibilities & future aspirations. However, Guardian reported that guests are expected to arrive between 7:15 and 8:30 am and take their seats at 9:00 am. 

From 9:30 to 10:45 am, government officials, foreign dignitaries, and the royal family, including King Charles and Camilla’s Escort of the Household Cavalry are expected to arrive at Westminster. At about 10:20 am, a procession will begin from Buckingham Palace, with King Charles and Camilla arriving at 10:53 am. The service commences promptly at 11:00 am, with King Charles being crowned by the Archbishop of Canterbury at noon using the St Edward’s crown. 

The newly-crowned King and Queen Consort will then embark on their coronation procession to Buckingham Palace at 1:00 pm, earning a royal salute from the military at the palace gardens at 1:45 pm. Concluding, at around 2:15 pm, King Charles, Queen Consort Camilla, and other members of the royal family will make an appearance on the palace balcony to witness the fly-past.

When is the Coronation Concert? 

A live broadcast of a special Coronation Concert will take place at Windsor Castle on Sunday, May 7th, 2023. A public ballot was held for thousand pairs of tickets, but it is now officially closed.

When is the Coronation Big Lunch? 

On the same day, May 7th, 2023, the Coronation Big Lunch will be held nationwide, urging neighbors and communities to share food and celebrate together.

What is the Big Help Out? 

On Monday, May 8th, 2023, the Big Help Out program will take place, inviting the public to partake in volunteer work and aid local communities.

The coronation will be shown live on your local CBS television station from 5 a.m. ET, and can also be streamed online via CBS News on your mobile or streaming device. Fubo TV is also offering a free trial for cord-cutters or those without cable who wish to live stream the event.
