Posted by Jeff Bezos’ new superyacht, valued at half a billion dollars, spares no expense with its extravagant 250-foot support boat and helipad. But it appears the yacht has a personal touch that is quite unique. In photos exclusively obtained by MailOnline, the 416ft love boat possesses a polished wooden sculpture, seated on the prow of the yacht, and interestingly, it bears a striking likeness to Bezos’s glamorous GF.
The sculpture depicts a curvaceous woman carved in the style of a Roman goddess, dressed in an elegant flowing gown, long hair, and a face that bears more than a few similarities to that of Lauren Sanchez.
Photos of the figurehead were obtained as Bezos, 59, and Sanchez were spotted enjoying their first vacation on the vessel this week, which is currently anchored off the coast of Mallorca, a picturesque Spanish island. The pair, who became official after their affair got exposed in January 2019, had spent the weekend at the Miami Grand Prix before jetting to Europe. The couple appears more in love than ever as they have been soaking up the Spanish sunshine.
The trip on the yacht, named Koru after the Maori word for new beginnings,” comes more than five years after it was launched.
At the time, the yacht was known as “Project 721” and was built in the historic port of Zwijndrecht in the Netherlands by sailboat experts Oceanco. The Koru, which had undergone sea trials in February before being handed over to Bezos in April, is the second largest sailing ship in the world, surpassing only the Philippe Starcke-designed Sailing Yacht A, owned by Russian fertilizer billionaire Andrey Melnichenko.
Along with a private submarine, Koru actually sails with a smaller 250ft support vessel that has been kitted out with a helipad and is stocked with a collection of speedboats and supercars.
