Posted by Kim Zolciak-Biermann, a former Real Housewives of Atlanta star, has filed for divorce from her husband Kroy Biermann, on the same day it was reported they owe over $1 million in unpaid taxes. TMZ obtained legal documents stating their marriage is “irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation,” and they have been separated since April 30.
As quoted in the divorce documents, the Tardy for the Party singer requests for physical and joint custody of their four children, spousal support, & restoration of her maiden name.
Kim and Kroy met on RHOA Season 3 and became a popular and long-lasting couple on Bravo. They had a spinoff show in 2012 called Don’t Be Tardy for the Wedding, which led to the Bravo series Don’t Be Tardy, now canceled. Their finances, including their ability to afford one of their previous Georgia mansions, had frequently been questioned by their RHOA co-stars during their time on reality TV.
In February, TMZ reported the ex-couple’s large estate was in foreclosure, but Kim’s daughters, Ariana and Brielle Biermann denied the claim.
TMZ further says that owing the IRS $1.1 million in unpaid taxes, interest, and penalties from 2013, 2017, and 2018, is not a surprise for the Biermanns, given their financial difficulties. Also, legal documents state they are $15,000 behind in state taxes from 2018. The split between the Biermanns is the latest that has rocked the Bravo world as it comes as Real Housewives of Atlanta star Drew Sidora filed for divorce from her husband Ralph Pittman.
On the other hand, Kim Zolciak is returning to RHOA later this season amid her divorce and financial struggles. It is unknown if she will discuss these issues, but then Andy Cohen is likely to ask probing questions.
