Rep. Lauren Boebert didn’t hold back at criticizing Democrat Senator John Fetterman’s decision to wear a hoodie and shorts at a Senate press conference. Taking to Twitter, the Colorado Republican expressed her disapproval, branding Fetterman’s attire as ‘truly unbecoming.’ Boebert argued such clothing was inappropriate given the exclusive nature of Senate membership.

At the news conference, Fetterman caught attention for his attire of a white Carharrt hoodie, gray shorts, and running shoes as he gave updates on the ongoing debt limit negotiations.

Boebert railed in her tweet, ‘John Fetterman redefined Casual Friday on a Thursday morning. It’s truly unbecoming for someone to show up like that to any job, let alone a job that only 100 people are elected to do. There’s just no excuse for it.’ In stark contrast, Fetterman’s four Democratic colleagues stood prominently in suits and wore formal footwear.

However, those familiar with Fetterman’s fashion choices would not have been taken aback by his preference for casual attire. Throughout his tenure as the Mayor of Braddock and his campaign for the Pennsylvania Senate, he consistently donned hoodies and shorts. And notably, he had just resumed his Senate duties after a six-week hospitalization for clinical depression. As per the DailyMail, Fetterman had previously suffered a stroke, and his occasional stumbling and incoherent appearances in Congress had sparked concerns for his health.
