Tina Turner, the vivacious and dynamic rock icon known for her wild-haired rock and stage persona, passed away at her home near Zurich after a long illness. Throughout her music career that spanned five decades, the 83-year-old enraptured global audiences, packing stadiums and earning a dozen of Grammy Awards while also winning the adoration of fans around the world. 

Turner’s publicist, Bernard Doherty, said the world loses a music legend, a role model, and added there will be a private funeral ceremony for close friends and family members. The cause of death is undisclosed. [She pictured with her partner Edwin Bach]
