The Transformers franchise, despite its 15-year span and seven movies, has not achieved the level of a genuine epic in the same league as Star Wars or Lord of the Rings. Nevertheless, the latest preview for the forthcoming film, “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts,” showcases that there is more substance to the series than what appears on the surface.

Paramount released the new trailer for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts on Thursday. It serves as both a prequel and sequel to the Bumblebee movie of 2018. While the trailer does not unveil much that hasn’t been seen before, it does offer additional glimpses of the massive villain Unicron and its colossal size.

As seen in the trailer, “Rise of the Beasts” has the probability of exceeding expectations and becoming a strong entry in the Transformers franchise. Director Steven Caple Jr. appears to be injecting the film with a sense of personality that was missing in Michael Bay’s previous sequels and is presenting the sci-fi mythology as both magnificent and fearsome.

“Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” introduces characters from the “Beast Wars” spinoff of the Transformers franchise. In a deviation from the established canon, where the Maximals and Predacons trace their ancestry to the Autobots and Decepticons, respectively, “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” sees the Maximals seeking the help of the Autobots to protect their planet from the planet-eating Unicron.

As with previous movies, human characters are involved, with Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback portraying characters who assist the Transformers in saving the world. “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” will hit the cinemas in June, specifically on the 9th, and whether you have memories of watching “Beast Wars” or not, “Rise of the Beasts” appears to be an adventure worth experiencing
