Henry Cavill returns as Geralt of Rivia with Freya Allan as Ciri and Anya Chalotra as Yennefer in The Witcher’s new trailer, which shows the trio taking on new monsters. The trailer, which hints at the threat of the Wild Hunt, discloses that Season 3 will be divided into parts, with the first premiering on June 27 and the second on July 27.

The Witcher 3 marks Geralt’s final season. The trailer equally offered a brief glimpse, showing Yen, Geralt, and Ciri looking for each other in the dark, including Geralt saying something about an encounter with a monster that marked the very first time he truly felt fear. Most importantly, it gives hints that Wild Hunt is in the picture.

“As monarchs, mages, and beasts of the continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it,” says Netflix. “Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to discover more about the girl’s untapped powers.”

The summary added, “Instead, they discover they’ve landed on a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery.” They must fight back, put everything on the line, or risk losing each other forever. The streaming service announced late last year that Geralt would be leaving his role and would be replaced by Liam Hemsworth [in The Hunger Games].

However, it’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time that Netflix has opted to split a season into two parts. Previously, the streaming giant employed the same strategy with popular shows like Stranger Things and You. Last summer, the fourth season of Stranger Things was split into two parts, and earlier this year, the company did the same with the fourth season of You.
