Katy Perry To Quit American Idol, Report Alleges

‘The California Girls’ singer’s time doling out pieces of advice on American Idol might come to an end soonest. Katy Perry is currently weighing her options after public perception of her changed in the just-concluded season of the show. While this hasn’t been confirmed, a report states that Katy isn’t thrilled about her portrayal and feels like producers are to blame.

The breaking point was when the American Idol live audience booed her.

‘Katy feels like [the producers] threw her under the bus. She feels like her comments could have been removed. Katy became aware of the harsh criticism. Getting booed really upset her. She was trying to stay in her lane, do her job, and go home. She went into it thinking she was going to foster young talent. For her good intentions to be misinterpreted, it was not what she wanted,’ a source dished as per the DailyMail

The source added, ‘She has accomplished so much in her career and is now being looked at as a nasty reality show judge, Katy’s wanted out for some time now, but this season was way too much for her to handle.’ Katy sparked controversy early in March when she was slammed of mom shaming contestant Sarah Beth Liebe. The 25-year-old revealed she had three kids and in response, Katy made a big song and dance of it and pretended to collapse on the judge’s table.

In another event, Katy was booed by the audience for telling Nutsa Buzalade to dial back on her signature glitter.

She also got slammed for using psychological warfare when she tricked contestants into thinking they were going home when they were in fact moving on to the next round. If the Grammy-nominated artist did leave the show, which she has been part of since its 2018 revival alongside Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, it would mean Katy is walking away from a reported $ 25 million contract per season. However, the source insisted it isn’t about the money for Katy.
