The actress is heading back to set to reprise her iconic role as Samantha Jones on the “S*x and the City” spinoff series. Kim Cattrall starred in six seasons and two movie spinoffs of “S*x and the City,” playing the character of Jones, a glamorous publicist. She will now appear in the finale of the second season of “And Just Like That…,” scheduled to premiere on June 22nd.
Notably, Cattrall will only make an appearance in one scene of the season finale and the show’s official Twitter account and the streaming Max has appeared to confirm the news.
In 2016, the actress had left fans and her castmates disappointed when she declined to join in the third “S*x and the City” movie, telling Entertainment Tonight at the time, “I hate to be a spoilsport, but what would the next story be?” And in response, her co-stars including Kristin Davis, the late Willie Garson, and Sarah Jessica Parker claimed they were saddened by her decision.
Parker at the time told EXTRA, “It’s not just disappointing that we don’t get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so for that audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie.” Cattrall further said in a 2017 interview that she would never play Samantha again, adding she has never been friends with Parker, and Davis and said the show prevented her from having children.
